By Belize Live News Staff: A Saturday night collision near the Uno Gas Station in Trial Farm Village has resulted in several pending charges for a motorcyclist after police responded to a report of a traffic accident around 10:30 p.m. on November 29, 2025.
When officers arrived on the Phillip Goldson Highway, they found a woman injured on the roadside, complaining of back pain. Nearby, a black Lifan motorcycle (OWM-2625) was discovered with significant front-end damage, including a bent wheel and fork. Inside the gas station compound, a silver Ford F-150 (OWC-20247) was parked with a broken left rear light, confirming it had been struck.
Investigators learned that the pickup driver, 33-year-old Roberto Gongora, was traveling northbound and had already signaled to turn left into the station when the motorcycle, traveling behind him, crashed into the rear side of his vehicle.
The motorcycle was being ridden by 29-year-old Juan Angel Candelario, accompanied by his common-law partner, 22-year-old Mariana Crawford, who suffered injuries in the collision. Both had been traveling in the same direction as the pickup before impact.
Authorities say the motorcyclist showed signs of intoxication, including slurred speech and the strong smell of alcohol. When asked for his driver’s license, Candelario admitted he did not possess one. Further checks determined that the motorcycle had no insurance disc, no license sticker, and no documentation indicating legal coverage or registration.
Candelario was informed of multiple suspected offenses and was taken to the Orange Walk Police Station for processing. Charges are expected to include DUI, driving without a license, driving an unlicensed motorcycle, and driving without third-party insurance coverage.
