By Belize Live News Staff: Two brothers were hospitalized on Wednesday afternoon after a heated argument escalated into a violent machete confrontation in Santa Martha Village, Orange Walk. Police say the incident occurred around 4:00 p.m. on November 26th, 2025, after they received information about a chopping incident involving 45-year-old Ricardo Patt, a worker at BSI, and his younger brother, 34-year-old Ermin Patt, a labourer from the same village.
According to reports, the brothers had been socializing when a disagreement erupted. The argument quickly turned physical, and both men allegedly drew machetes and attacked each other. As a result, Ricardo suffered a cut wound to his right foot and another to a finger on his left hand, while Ermin sustained lash marks to his back and a cut wound to his left foot.
Both men were issued medico-legal forms and transported to the Northern Regional Hospital for treatment. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
