Women left without visas or passport after alleged fraud

By Belize Live News Staff: According to a report from 7 News Belize, additional allegations have surfaced against Mark Antonio Rosales, with more Belizeans claiming he expanded his activities beyond a rental scam and into a fraudulent Canadian work visa scheme. Two women, who spoke to the media outlet off-camera, allege that Rosales convinced them to pay thousands of dollars for assistance in obtaining Canadian work visas for part-time employment in Vancouver.

The women reported that Rosales presented himself as someone capable of handling the visa process and related travel arrangements. One victim also paid him extra to help secure her husband’s passport. However, instead of receiving updates or any official documentation, the women say Rosales became unreachable, leaving them without the visas or the passport they had paid for.

Both women further alleged that Rosales used the same tactic on other individuals, suggesting that multiple victims may have been affected. One of the women said that only after conducting her own background check did she realize the extent of the deception, describing the ordeal as a painful and expensive mistake.

7 News Belize reported that attempts to contact Rosales for comment were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered. Although he reportedly told the station days earlier that he would turn himself in to Corozal Police, there has been no confirmation that he has done so.
