By Belize Live News Staff: Forecasters are watching an area of low pressure a few hundred miles southeast of Bermuda, but Belize can rest easy.
The National Meteorological Service says the system has a medium chance of developing into a short lived tropical cyclone over the next couple of days. It is far from Belizean waters and poses no threat here.
Closer to home, conditions stay settled. Today brings sunshine with a few cloudy spells and partly cloudy skies tonight. Showers or thunderstorms will be isolated, though the south could see a few more late tonight.
Temperatures hold steady and hot. Inland areas reach 95 degrees Fahrenheit, the coast hits 89 and the hills stay at 82.
The water is calm today. Winds run 5 to 15 knots from the east to northeast with a light chop and waves of 2 to 4 feet.
Tuesday turns cloudier, with a few showers and isolated thunderstorms possible over the south.
No tropical cyclone formation is expected over our region during the next 48 hours.
