By Belize Live News Staff: A man has been criminally charged following a deadly accident in Roaring Creek that left Daniel Puerto dead. Police announced today that 47-year-old Michael McFadzean now faces multiple offenses, including Manslaughter by Negligence, Causing Death by Careless Conduct, and Driving Without Due Care and Attention.
The fatal incident occurred on November 16, 2025, when a white van driven by McFadzean struck Puerto along the George Price Highway. Residents of the area reported that Puerto was allegedly intoxicated and seated on the road just moments before he was run over.
Police conducted interviews and processed the scene as part of their investigation, leading to today’s charges. McFadzean is expected to appear in court as the case progresses. Authorities remind the public of the dangers posed to both motorists and pedestrians when impaired or distracted near major roadways.
