69-year-old struck, dragged, and killed by minivan

By Belize Live News Staff: A collision in Roaring Creek Village has resulted in the death of 69-year-old Daniel Puerto, police confirmed.

The incident happened shortly before 10:30 p.m. on November 16, 2025, along the George Price Highway. Initial reports indicate Puerto was seated on the highway’s tarmac when a silver Foton Toano minivan ran over him.

The driver, Michael McFadzean, reportedly did not stop immediately and dragged the victim’s body until the vehicle came to rest in front of the Frogs Man Warehouse. The minivan, with visible front-end damage, was later found parked at Hyde’s Meat Market.

Police and forensic teams responded quickly, and Puerto was transported to Western Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. Police continue to hold McFadzean as the investigation progresses.
