Graphic designer and housewife, both 30, busted in 8:00 a.m. cocaine raid

By Belize Live News Staff: Two persons were arrested and charged after police found suspected cocaine during a search in Guinea Grass Village, Orange Walk District.

On Tuesday, November 11th, 2025, around 8:00 a.m., officers from the Anti-Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the residence of Neri Mejia, a 30-year-old Belizean graphic designer. At the time, Shanelly Angeline Pech, 30, a housewife, was present.

During the search, officers discovered two small ziplock bags containing a white powdery substance suspected to be cocaine inside a pair of grey short pants, and two additional bags with skull designs containing the same substance inside a backpack with tattoo equipment.

Both Mejia and Pech were detained, and the drugs were weighed and sealed in their presence, amounting to 1.84 grams of suspected cocaine.

Both Mejia and Pech were formally arrested and charged for possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply to another.
