By Belize Live News Staff: The Cayo District is mourning the loss of two young lives after a deadly accident early this morning in Ontario Village.
Reports are that the vehicle, driven by Jovan Middleton, crashed into a culvert and flipped, killing him instantly. His passenger, Ashley Gongora, was found critically injured and died minutes later despite efforts to save her.
The accident adds to an already deadly weekend on Cayo’s roads, as another motorcycle collision in Teakettle Village on Saturday night left multiple people injured.
This brings renewed attention to the growing number of fatal traffic incidents across Belize, prompting authorities to urge drivers to slow down and remain alert, especially during the nighttime hours.
