Driver caught with expired license and insurance since 2021

Insurance

By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Orange Walk arrested a local mechanic early Wednesday morning after discovering multiple traffic violations during a routine patrol.

Around 2:30 a.m., officers on mobile patrol along San Antonio Road noticed a white Ford Ranger and decided to conduct a check. The driver, whose license had expired in October 2025, was also found to be operating the vehicle without valid insurance or registration, both of which had expired since 2021.

The motorist was immediately informed of the offenses and taken into custody. At the Orange Walk Police Station, he was issued acknowledgment forms, which he signed voluntarily, and was later formally charged for:

Driving without a valid driver’s license,

Driving a motor vehicle not covered by third-party risk insurance, and

Using an unlicensed motor vehicle.

Authorities say this case forms part of an ongoing effort to enforce traffic safety and compliance across the district.
