By Belize Live News Staff: The Ministry of the Public Service, Governance, and Disaster Risk Management has joined the nation in mourning the tragic deaths of Ms. Angelita Majana and her young son, Tishan Godoy, who perished in a devastating house fire earlier today in the Orange Walk District.
In an official statement, the Ministry extended its deepest sympathies to the grieving family, describing the loss as heartbreaking and expressing solidarity with the community during this difficult time.
“The Ministry expresses its deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of Ms. Angelita Majana and her young son, Tishan Godoy, who tragically lost their lives in a fire that occurred this morning in the Orange Walk District,” the release said.
The Ministry also offered well wishes to the two survivors of the blaze, Mr. Miguel Novelo and Miss Shadia Majana, who are currently receiving medical treatment.
In the statement, the Ministry commended the National Fire Service and other first responders for their swift action and bravery in handling the emergency, as well as the police for the rapid detention of the accused arsonist.
Beyond expressing sympathy, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to improving fire prevention and community safety efforts nationwide. It emphasized the need for continued collaboration among authorities to better protect Belizean lives and property.
