By Belize Live News Staff: For years, long lines at police stations were a familiar sight as Belizeans queued to apply for their “police record,” an essential document often required when applying for jobs. But those days may now be numbered.
The Belize Police Department, through the Criminal Records Registry (CRR) under the Ministry of Home Affairs and New Growth Industries, has launched an online system aimed at making the process faster, easier, and more affordable.
Accessible at www.crr.gov.bz
, the platform allows applicants to fill out a digital form, validate their judicial history, and choose how they would like to receive their official record of conduct, either as a secure digital copy by email or as a printed version collected from a police station of their choice.
The ministry explained that this initiative is part of a larger push to modernize public services and reduce the time and cost burden on citizens, especially those living in rural areas. A helpful FAQ page is also available on the website to guide users through the application process.
Officials say the system is designed to bring convenience and flexibility to citizens while supporting Belize’s broader digital government agenda, which has already seen an expansion of online services across several public institutions.
