Prime Minister orders 45-day leave for Commissioner of Police

By Belize Live News Staff: Prime Minister John Briceño has directed Commissioner of Police Dr. Richard Rosado to proceed on a forty-five-day leave of absence with immediate effect. The decision follows the submission of an incomplete investigative report on the Budna matter, which the Prime Minister deemed unsatisfactory.

Deputy Commissioner Bart Jones has been appointed as Acting Commissioner during Rosado’s absence. Both Rosado and Jones have assured Minister of Home Affairs Kareem Musa of their cooperation to ensure that the Police Department continues to operate smoothly while the investigation is finalized.
