Corozal principal accused of sexually assaulting 13-year-old student, charged by police

By Belize Live News Staff: A primary school principal in Corozal has been arrested and charged following allegations of sexual assault against a 13-year-old student.

Police report that the minor, accompanied by her mother, visited the Gender-Based Violence Response and Investigation Unit earlier this week. She told investigators that her principal began communicating with her via WhatsApp in April, which later led to sexual assaults on three separate occasions between May and June. One of the incidents reportedly took place in the school’s storage room.

The accused has been identified as 53-year-old Ever Lucas, principal of Christiline Gill Seventh Day Adventist Primary School. Lucas has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of child luring.

Authorities say the case is under investigation and continue to monitor the situation closely.
