Massive 75-foot bridge beams to be transported for Santa Familia project

Massive 75-foot bridge beams to be transported for Santa Familia project

By Belize Live News Staff: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing is advising the public that three extremely heavy 75-foot-long reinforced concrete bridge beams will be transported this week as part of the Santa Familia Bridge Project.

According to the Ministry, the massive beams will be moved from Ladyville to Santa Familia, Cayo, on Thursday, August 28, and Friday, August 29, 2025. The route will include the Philip Goldson Highway, the Boom-Hattieville Road, the George Price Highway, the Spanish Lookout entrance road, the Spanish Lookout Road, and Bullet Tree Road.

Motorists are strongly urged to exercise extreme caution when approaching and navigating around the heavy transport equipment. Due to the size of the beams, they may occupy a significant portion of the highway and cause slower traffic flow.

Drivers are asked to follow traffic warnings and the instructions of escorts to ensure safety along the route. The Ministry thanked the public for their cooperation and reminded all road users to plan their trips accordingly.
