By Belize Live News Staff: Police in Belize City are on high alert following an incident in which 22-year-old Dwayne Tillett allegedly attempted to fire a gun at a police officer.
The incident reportedly occurred on Friday night when Tillett pulled a firearm on the officer. Fortunately, the weapon jammed and failed to discharge, preventing a potentially deadly outcome.
Tillett immediately escaped the area and is now wanted by police on a charge of aggravated assault. Investigators are urging the public to assist in locating him, stressing that any information provided could be vital in bringing him into custody.
Members of the public are advised to call 911, 922, or their nearest police station if they have any details on Tillett’s location.
