By Belize Live News Staff: Belize will see a significant expansion in air service from Canada this winter as WestJet and Air Canada prepare to launch their seasonal flights for 2025-2026, creating more travel options for visitors and reinforcing Belize’s position as a leading Caribbean destination for adventure and cultural tourism.
WestJet will begin its seasonal service from Calgary and Toronto on October 30, 2025, operating longer into the season until May 10, 2026, and adding Monday service on select dates. From Calgary, the schedule starts with two weekly flights through mid-December, then increases to three weekly flights — Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — until mid-April, before scaling back to twice weekly and finally once weekly in early May. From Toronto, service begins twice weekly, builds to three times weekly, peaks at four times weekly during the high season, then gradually reduces through early May.
Air Canada’s expansion will include a new Montreal to Belize City route launching on December 8, 2025, with evening departures and late-night arrivals, running until March 2, 2026, and resuming from March 9 to April 6, 2026. Additionally, its Toronto to Belize City flights will operate on March 6, March 27, and April 10, 2026, departing in the morning and arriving in Belize early afternoon.
Tourism Minister Anthony Mahler highlighted that these additions reflect the increasing demand from Canadian travelers and the growing appeal of Belize as a year-round destination. The expanded routes not only benefit Canadian visitors but also enhance connectivity for European markets via Montreal and Toronto.
With more flights, longer seasons, and improved access, the 2025-2026 winter period promises to be one of the most accessible and dynamic seasons yet for travelers seeking Belize’s warm climate, rich culture, and natural beauty.
