By Belize Live News Staff: Actor Malcolm Jamal Warner, widely known as Theo from The Cosby Show, has died at 54. Costa Rican authorities confirmed Warner drowned while on vacation with his family.
Warner’s work spanned decades, with roles in The Resident, Malcolm and Eddie, and The Magic School Bus. He was also a Grammy winner and podcast host.
In 2012, Warner visited Belize to celebrate his birthday. Accompanied by longtime Belize visitor Daryl “Chill” Mitchell, he shared how much he loved the country’s culture and warm people.
His passing is felt deeply, including in Belize, where he is remembered as more than just a star; he was a guest who felt right at home.
