Mostly fair weather continues, but expect showers ahead of the tropical wave

Mild and mostly fair conditions expected today

By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans are enjoying one more mostly sunny day, but it won’t last long. The National Meteorological Service reports that an approaching tropical wave is expected to bring showers and thunderstorms beginning Friday, with increased rain over central and southern districts by the evening.

For now, Thursday offers warm and mostly pleasant conditions. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may pop up during the afternoon, particularly in inland areas. By night, southern Belize will likely experience increased rainfall and possible thunderstorm activity.

Sea-goers should stay cautious, as winds from the east are blowing at 10–20 knots, resulting in choppy to moderate seas and waves ranging from 3 to 6 feet. Coastal temperatures today hover around 88°F (31°C), with hotter highs inland reaching up to 93°F (34°C).

The tropical weather outlook also includes a system near Florida, which is currently not a threat to Belize. However, all eyes remain on the tropical wave moving westward through the Caribbean.

The best advice? Enjoy today’s sunshine but don’t get caught off guard — pack your umbrellas and stay alert as the weekend could get wet.
