By Belize Live News Staff: A fresh to moderate easterly airflow continues to influence weather conditions across Belize, bringing mostly sunny skies with brief cloudy intervals today.
According to the National Meteorological Service, today’s weather will remain generally fair with only isolated showers or thunderstorms. The exception will be the southern parts of the country, where a few more showers are anticipated tonight and into Monday morning.
Forecaster Catherine Cumberbatch noted that skies tonight will range from partly cloudy to cloudy, with minimal rainfall expected for most areas.
Marine conditions show easterly winds blowing at 10 to 20 knots, contributing to a moderate sea state with waves between 4 to 6 feet.
Temperature highs today are forecast at 87°F (31°C) along the coast, soaring to 93°F (34°C) inland, while hill regions are expected to reach 78°F (26°C). Overnight lows will range from 80°F (27°C) on the coast to 74°F (23°C) inland, and 68°F (20°C) in the hills.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Two, located near 20.0N / 96.0W or about 650 miles north of Veracruz, Mexico, is tracking west-northwest at 9mph with maximum sustained winds of 35mph. The system poses no direct threat to Belize at this time but remains under observation.
Looking ahead to Monday and Monday night, forecasters expect partly cloudy skies during the day with isolated showers. A few more showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely to develop along coastal areas overnight.
