By Belize Live News Staff: President Donald J. Trump announced a breakthrough agreement between Israel and Iran for a complete and total ceasefire, effectively ending what he labeled “The 12 Day War.”
According to Trump’s statement, Iran will begin its ceasefire first, followed by Israel 12 hours later. After 24 hours, a formal end to hostilities will be recognized globally.
“It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a complete and total CEASEFIRE,” Trump declared in a Truth Social post.
The President emphasized that both nations demonstrated “stamina, courage, and intelligence” in choosing diplomacy over prolonged conflict. He praised both countries for their restraint and expressed confidence that each side will remain peaceful and respectful during the staggered ceasefire period.
“This is a war that could have gone on for years and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn’t—and never will!” Trump stated, adding blessings to Israel, Iran, the Middle East, and the world.
The 12-Day War saw escalating tensions but, according to the President, concluded without extended devastation due to diplomatic coordination and early warning systems.
Observers and analysts await official confirmations from both governments and international observers regarding the implementation of the truce.
