By Belize Live News Staff: The National Meteorological Service is forecasting a mix of sunshine and cloudy intervals today across the country, but coastal and southern regions should brace for occasional showers and thunderstorms by tonight.
A combination of relatively moist and unstable conditions, paired with moderate to strong easterly winds, is currently influencing Belize’s weather. These gusty winds have prompted a small craft caution, and mariners are urged to navigate carefully in open waters.
Today’s sea conditions range from moderate to rough, with wave heights of 4 to 7 feet. The easterly wind flow, between 10 to 20 knots, may become gusty at intervals—particularly during the passage of heavier showers.
On the temperature front, highs will peak at 92°F inland, 86°F along the coast, and 78°F in hilly areas. Tonight will see a slight dip, with lows of 74°F inland, 81°F on the coast, and 68°F in the hills.
Astronomical conditions include a low tide this morning at 8:10 a.m., a high at 2:01 p.m., and another low at 9:08 p.m. The sun sets at 6:29 p.m., and Wednesday’s sunrise is scheduled for 5:18 a.m. The moon will rise tonight at 11:35 p.m.
There are no tropical cyclones threatening the region within the next 48 hours, but the outlook for Wednesday suggests continued rainfall in the south and along the coast.
