By Belize Live News Staff: U.S. President Donald Trump has nominated André Bauer, former lieutenant governor of South Carolina, to serve as the next United States Ambassador to Belize.
Bauer’s nomination marks a renewed effort by the president, as he was previously selected for the same role during Trump’s first term. However, that earlier nomination did not reach the stage of Senate confirmation.
The latest nomination now moves to the U.S. Senate, where lawmakers will decide whether to approve Bauer for the diplomatic position.
If confirmed, Bauer will represent the United States in Belize, strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
