Hot and dry conditions dominate Belize’s weather today

Mainly fair weather expected across Belize today

By Belize Live News Staff: It’s shaping up to be another hot day across Belize, as fair, warm, and mostly dry weather conditions continue.

The National Meteorological Service reports that temperatures inland are expected to climb as high as 97 degrees Fahrenheit, triggering a heat alert for much of the country.

Residents, particularly those in central and western areas, are being advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activity during the peak afternoon hours.

Today’s forecast calls for mostly sunny skies with a few cloudy spells and very little chance of rain. Any showers that do develop will be isolated and short-lived. Tonight is expected to remain partly cloudy with warm conditions persisting.

The sea breeze will bring moderate easterly to southeasterly winds at 10 to 20 knots, keeping coastal areas slightly cooler but still warm. The sea will be choppy to moderate with wave heights between 3 to 6 feet.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday is expected to bring more of the same—hot, dry weather with clear skies dominating most of the day and no major rainfall expected.

According to the tide chart, today’s high tide will occur at 11:53 a.m., followed by a low tide at 7:37 p.m. Tomorrow’s tides include a high at 1:47 a.m. and a low at 6:30 a.m. Sunrise today was at 5:17 a.m., and sunset is expected at 6:22 p.m. The moon will rise at 8:45 a.m. and set at 10:18 p.m.

Forecaster Michelle Augustine continues to monitor the situation, with no immediate weather systems posing a threat to the region. For now, the main concern is the intense inland heat.
