By Belize Live News Staff: After months of internal friction and scattered leadership, the United Democratic Party may finally be testing the waters for unity. Acting Chairman Alberto August has called a meeting of the National Party Council (NPC) for June 14, 2025, at UDP Headquarters in Belize City.
According to internal communications, the meeting is being convened under Article 7(6) of the UDP Constitution, with the primary goal listed as advancing the “Reset and Unification Agenda 2025.”
But is this the start of real reconciliation—or just another headline?
Tracy Panton, a key figure in the party’s ongoing power dynamics, confirmed she hadn’t yet received an official notice. However, she wrote to Chairman August saying she’s awaiting formal communication from the UDP Secretariat and is looking forward to receiving the details.
If unity is truly on the table, the June 14 session could prove to be more than just routine business. For now, all eyes are on who shows up—and who doesn’t.
