By Belize Live News Staff: Leader of the Opposition Tracy Taegar Panton experienced a brief medical episode this afternoon while delivering her official budget presentation at the George Price Center. Panton was addressing the chamber when she began to visibly sweat and expressed discomfort in one of her legs.
The Speaker of the House promptly adjourned the meeting to ensure that Panton could be evaluated. An ambulance was called to the scene, and emergency medical personnel checked on her condition. However, contrary to earlier reports, Panton was not rushed to the hospital.
A representative from the National Assembly has since confirmed that while emergency services were summoned as a precaution, Panton remained at the venue and was not transported for further medical attention. The incident, though concerning at first, was handled swiftly with support from colleagues and health responders.
Officials have not released additional information about her current status, but colleagues across the political aisle have expressed their support and well-wishes for her continued well-being.
