By Belize Live News Staff: Belize took a bold step on Thursday in shaping its tourism destiny by bringing together key voices from the travel, hospitality, and aviation sectors for the B.O.O.M. Forum and the Belize Airlift Development Conference, both hosted by the Belize Tourism Board at the Civic Center in Belize City.
The B.O.O.M. Forum, now a staple in the national tourism calendar, continues to evolve as a platform where future-focused conversations spark innovation. Dr. Vincent Palacio, Chairman of the BTB’s Board of Directors, kicked off the forum with a call to action for stakeholders to embrace shared responsibility and long-term vision.
Attendees were treated to forward-looking presentations from Skift’s Seth Borko and BTB’s international marketing partners. The big reveal? New initiatives like the Grab Life Coach, No Barriers 2.0, and the revamped Travel Belize website—signaling Belize’s intent to deepen traveler engagement and global reach.
The afternoon’s Airlift Development Conference shifted gears toward practical matters of accessibility and connectivity. With speakers from top airlines including American, Spirit, Southwest, and Copa, along with Altura Aviation’s analysis of Belize’s current airlift landscape, the session focused on identifying opportunities for growth.
Tourism Director Evan Tillett underscored the power of partnerships: “When we build strong relationships with airlines, we’re not just filling seats—we’re unlocking new pathways for economic growth.”
The dual-event drew over 200 participants and received major backing from partners like Bowen and Bowen, DigiBusiness, and MADISCO.
As the industry looks ahead to 2025 and 2026, Thursday’s events signaled not only momentum—but a clear roadmap for transformation.
