Tainted supplements found in multiple districts, Ministry of Helath issues alert

By Belize Live News Staff: An urgent health advisory has been issued by the Ministry of Health & Wellness following the discovery of tainted supplements being sold in Belize. The affected products include Artri King, Artribion, Artri Ajo King, and Vitafér–L, and were found in four districts: Cayo, Orange Walk, Stann Creek, and Belize.

International health agencies raised the alarm after identifying undeclared chemicals in the supplements, prompting the Ministry to conduct its own investigation. The products are linked to serious health concerns and are not approved for use in Belize.

Officials warn the public to avoid supplements purchased outside licensed pharmacies or legitimate distributors. Sales through social media or informal channels are considered unsafe.

The Ministry is continuing to monitor the issue and will take further action if necessary. Consumers are asked to remain vigilant and report suspicious health products to authorities immediately.
