Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve announces extended opening hours starting April 1st

By Belize Live News Staff: Visitors to the Cahal Pech Archaeological Reserve will soon have more time to explore the historic site, thanks to extended opening hours announced by the Institute of Archaeology (NICH). Effective April 1, 2025, the reserve will open daily from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, including weekends and holidays.

The announcement, made via social media, was met with enthusiasm by history buffs, tourists, and tour operators alike. Known for its scenic hilltop views and rich Maya history, Cahal Pech is one of Belize’s most accessible and iconic archaeological sites. The new hours aim to give visitors more time to enjoy the ruins at their own pace, whether early in the morning or late in the afternoon.

NICH encourages locals and tourists to immerse themselves in the heritage of the region and make the most of the extended hours to experience the beauty and mystery of the ancient site.

So pack your walking shoes, your camera, and a sense of wonder—Cahal Pech is giving you even more time to connect with Belize’s incredible past.
