By Belize Live News Staff: Travelers heading to Rio Frio Cave should prepare for a change in access as the main road beyond the cave entrance is temporarily closed to all vehicles. Officials have not specified a reopening date but encourage visitors to reach the cave via a 20-minute walk along a flat, forested trail.
Parking remains available along the roadside at visitors’ own risk, though management will not be liable for any damage or losses. Tour operators and travelers are advised to plan accordingly and allow extra time for the short hike to the cave.
Despite the closure, Rio Frio Cave remains one of Mountain Pine Ridge’s must-visit attractions, known for its impressive limestone formations and massive entrance. Visitors should stay informed for further updates on the road reopening by following Belize Live News.
