No evidence yet of domestic violence in Wendy Mendez’s death

By Belize Live News Staff: Police say there is no evidence at this time to support claims that Wendy Mendez was a victim of domestic violence.

Mendez died days after being hospitalized with injuries, and her family insists she was attacked by her husband. However, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams stated that investigations have not confirmed this narrative.

“We are awaiting the postmortem results to determine the cause of death,” Williams said, adding that Mendez’s husband was interviewed but provided no useful information.

Police say there are no prior domestic violence reports linked to the household, but investigations remain open.
