Body of missing Belizean man found with message alleging police corruption

By Belize Live News Staff: The body of Raheem Usher, who had been missing for a month, was discovered early Thursday at the entrance to San Antonio, Rio Hondo, Belizean authorities said.

Usher’s remains were found wrapped in a black garbage bag, with his head encased in clear plastic wrap. Alongside the body, a handwritten message on a white sheet alleged that certain police officers attached to the Corozal formation were involved in drug-related activities, including facilitating the landing of planes carrying narcotics.

One of the officers named in the message is reportedly a relative of Usher, adding a layer of complexity to the case. Authorities have not disclosed the full contents of the message or confirmed the identities of those named.

Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of Usher’s disappearance and death, as well as the allegations contained in the note. No arrests have been made.
