By Belize Live News Staff: SAN PEDRO, Belize – Investigators are looking into the possibility that a drug overdose may have caused the deaths of three women found at the Royal Kahal Resort on Coconut Drive in San Pedro Town.
A scenes of crime team spent approximately four hours processing the hotel room where the bodies were discovered. According to police sources, preliminary examinations suggest that the women may have suffered a fatal overdose, although the investigation is still ongoing.
Two of the women, aged 26 and 24, have been identified as U.S. nationals born in Morocco. The identity and nationality of the third woman have not yet been confirmed.
The discovery was reported around 11:30 a.m. when the resort’s general manager called 911 after hotel personnel found the three women unresponsive during a routine check.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident, and further details are expected following post-mortem examinations.
