By Belize Live News Staff: As moderate to fresh southeasterly winds continue to influence Belize’s weather, residents can expect a mix of sunshine and scattered clouds today, with the possibility of afternoon or evening thunderstorms developing over inland areas.
According to the Belize Meteorological Service, the easterly-southeasterly winds will maintain speeds of 10-20 knots, creating choppy sea conditions with waves ranging from 3 to 5 feet. Fishermen and boat operators should be cautious in offshore waters, particularly if isolated thunderstorms create localized gusts.
Daytime temperatures will be warm and comfortable, with coastal areas reaching 85°F (29°C), inland areas climbing to 89°F (32°C), and hilly regions experiencing highs of 78°F (26°C). Nighttime temperatures will drop to 77°F (25°C) along the coast, 70°F (21°C) inland, and 65°F (18°C) in the hills.
As the day progresses, isolated showers are expected across the country, with a higher likelihood of showers developing over southern Belize tonight. Meanwhile, northern and central areas may see thunderstorms on Thursday, though activity is expected to remain isolated.
Marine conditions will remain choppy, and small craft operators are advised to be vigilant when navigating coastal waters.
Today’s tides include low tide at 7:44 AM, high tide at 1:48 PM, and low tide at 9:42 PM, followed by high tide at 3:29 AM on Thursday. Sunrise is at 6:17 AM, while the sunset will occur at 5:55 PM. The moon will rise at 11:55 PM tonight.
