Veteran politician “Boots” Martinez eyes Port Loyola seat again

Veteran politician "Boots" Martinez eyes Port Loyola seat again

By Belize Live News Staff: Former four-term Area Representative Anthony “Boots” Martinez is making a return to Port Loyola, seeking one last electoral victory. After stepping away from the constituency in 2020 to run in Pickstock, Martinez is now back in familiar territory, hoping to reclaim the support of residents who once rallied behind him.

Martinez has criticized the current Area Representative, Gilroy Usher, accusing him of failing to address key community issues, particularly road repairs and housing projects. He claims that under Usher’s leadership, many residents have felt abandoned, and he believes his track record speaks for itself.

With the general elections fast approaching, Martinez is banking on nostalgia and his past service to convince Port Loyola voters to give him one last chance. Whether the community will welcome him back with open arms or opt for new leadership remains to be seen.
