Police hunt for man accused of threatening hotel worker with firearm

By Belize Live News Staff: A hotel employee in Belize City had a terrifying encounter after a guest allegedly pointed a firearm at her while she was performing her duties.

The incident occurred at 7:30 p.m. on February 15, 2025, when the 56-year-old housekeeper was delivering towels to Room #308 on the third floor of the hotel. After knocking and announcing herself, the guest inside the room responded, telling her to leave the towels outside.

However, as she stood waiting, the door opened slightly, revealing a male individual of Chinese descent, who allegedly had a black and silver firearm aimed in her direction. Fearing for her safety, she immediately handed over the towels and left.

Police conducted checks at the hotel and casino, identifying the suspect through hotel records and a Social Security card. The man is now wanted for Aggravated Assault, and investigations are ongoing as authorities work to locate and detain him.
