Powerful earthquake rattles Honduras, Belize, Mexico, and Cuba

By Belize Live News Staff: A strong earthquake measuring 7.6 on the Richter scale struck the Caribbean Sea, approximately 235 km north of the Cayman Islands, on Saturday evening, the US Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed.

The tremor was felt in Honduras, Belize, Mexico, and Cuba, though there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries. Residents in affected areas reported mild to moderate shaking, prompting concerns about aftershocks.

Authorities in the region are assessing any potential structural damage and monitoring for tsunami risks, though none have been issued at this time.
