By Belize Live News Staff: Authorities have confirmed that 73-year-old Pedro Gonzalez was the individual found floating in a swamp within the Fresh Pond community, just outside Burrell Boom Village, Belize District.
The discovery was made around 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night, when residents noticed the partially submerged body. Investigators reported that there were no visible signs of injury on Gonzalez.
According to initial reports, Gonzalez was last seen alive around 8:00 a.m. on Thursday morning. His body has since been transported to the morgue, where it awaits a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death.
Authorities have not yet classified the case as foul play, but investigations remain ongoing.
