Belize education leaders unite for national development goals

By Belize Live News Staff: The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science, and Technology (MoECST) has joined forces with the Belize National Teachers’ Union (BNTU) and Managing Authorities of pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools to enhance collaboration and elevate the country’s education system.

At the historic meeting, chaired by Francis Fonseca, Minister of Education, stakeholders discussed improving communication and addressing challenges in the education sector. Agencies such as the Social Security Board, Belize Tax Services, and Treasury Department participated in the discussions, emphasizing cross-sector collaboration.

A major milestone of the meeting was the signing of a joint statement, which underscored a commitment to efficient cooperation for the benefit of students, teachers, and parents. The statement also reaffirmed the importance of innovation and equitable access to education for all Belizeans.

“Our goal is to equip every Belizean with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for their personal growth and the nation’s development,” said Minister Fonseca.

Stakeholders have agreed to engage in ongoing dialogue and joint initiatives to promote a high-quality education system that aligns with Belize’s vision for a prosperous future.
