Ladyville man charged after allegedly assaulting wife and stepson with pellet gun

By Belize Live News Staff: A 31-year-old man from Ladyville, identified as Anthony Zelaya, is in legal trouble after allegedly assaulting his common-law wife and her seven-year-old son with a pellet gun during a domestic dispute on New Year’s Day.

Zelaya appeared in court on charges of aggravated assault, common assault, and damage to property. He pleaded guilty to damaging his partner’s phone but denied the other charges, maintaining his innocence regarding the alleged assault.
