Store robbery ends with suspect shot by armed bystander

By Belize Live News Staff: Police are investigating a robbery that occurred on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Eric’s Supermarket on Bachelors Avenue, Belize City.

Initial reports reveal that around 8:30 PM, an armed man entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. A civilian inside the supermarket, who holds a valid firearm license, fired three shots at the suspect, injuring him in the left shoulder.

The injured suspect was identified as a 19-year-old Cameron Myles from Ladyville. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition under police guard.

At the scene, police recovered a .38 revolver believed to have been used in the robbery. Investigators also reviewed video footage from the supermarket to gather further evidence.

Authorities are continuing their investigation into the incident.
