Mixed weather expected across Belize, says Belize Met Service

Fair and stable weather continues across Belize as light winds dominate

By Belize Live News Staff: The Belize Meteorological Service reports that a relatively moist northeasterly airflow is set to shape the country’s weather today. Residents can anticipate cloudy skies interspersed with sunny breaks throughout the day, transitioning to partly cloudy to cloudy skies tonight. Light showers or periods of rain will likely affect some coastal and central inland areas before tapering off into isolated activity later in the evening.

Marine conditions remain dynamic, with winds blowing from the northeast at speeds of 10-20 knots. Seas are forecast to be moderate to rough, with wave heights of 4 to 7 feet. As a result, small craft operators are advised to exercise caution, as gusty winds and rough seas are expected to persist.

Temperatures will vary significantly across the country. Coastal regions will reach highs of 83°F (28°C) and dip to lows of 73°F (23°C). Inland areas are forecast to hit 85°F (29°C) at their warmest, cooling to 68°F (20°C) overnight. The hilly regions will remain cooler, with daytime highs of 72°F (22°C) and nighttime lows of 63°F (17°C).

Looking ahead, the Met Service forecasts partly cloudy skies with isolated showers for Monday and Monday night. Tides for today include a high at 10:39 AM and another at 9:32 PM, with low tides at 3:16 PM and tomorrow at 5:10 AM. The sun rose at 6:15 AM and will set at 5:20 PM, while the moon will rise at 5:45 PM following a 6:34 AM moonset.

The Belize Met Service encourages small craft operators and residents in coastal regions to remain vigilant as weather conditions unfold. Stay tuned for updates as the week progresses.
