By Belize Live News Staff: A vacation in the popular Belizean tourist destination of Ambergris Caye turned fatal on Friday after a woman fell from a golf cart and died, authorities said.
Jennifer Hernandez was riding with her boyfriend, Jeremy Flores, near Secret Beach when the golf cart hit a bump, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle, police said. She suffered severe injuries and was rushed to the San Pedro Polyclinic but died shortly after arrival.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero confirmed that Flores has since been charged in connection with the incident.
Further details on the charges against Flores were not immediately available.
