San Ignacio business owner launches “Just a Dollar” fundraising drive for grieving families

By Belize Live News Staff:  The towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena are in mourning following the loss of ten residents in a tragic incident that has left the community deeply shaken. In response, local business owner Passy Haylock, proprietor of The Gully Grill, has initiated a fundraising campaign titled “Just a Dollar” to assist the affected families with funeral expenses.

In a social media appeal, Haylock urged residents to unite in support of the grieving families, emphasizing the power of small contributions. “I’m not asking for $5, $20, or $50. Imagine if we all gave just one dollar. Together, we can create a wave of kindness and generate enough to assist these families,” he said.

Contributions can be made directly at The Gully Grill, through social media contact, or by calling 610-1632. Online donations are also being accepted via Belize Bank, under the account name Andrew Haylock, with the account number 123827010220002, and referencing the note “Just a Dollar.”

The initiative highlights the solidarity of the San Ignacio/Santa Elena community and the collective effort to bring relief to those facing unimaginable loss.
