By Belize Live News Staff: Belize City authorities are investigating the death of Ryan Romero, whose lifeless body was discovered in the canal near Yarborough Bridge on Saturday, December 7. Police responded to reports of the sighting and retrieved Romero’s body, which showed no visible signs of injury, according to Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Hilberto Romero, Regional Commander of the Eastern Division.
Initial investigations suggest that Romero’s death may be linked to a pre-existing medical condition. ACP Romero confirmed that the deceased was known to suffer from seizures and had been seen in the area shortly before his body was found. The body was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital (KHMH), where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Authorities have ruled out any immediate signs of foul play but are awaiting further results to determine the exact cause of death. The police investigation remains ongoing.
