By Belize Live News Staff: Belize is moving towards a more digital and efficient travel experience with the launch of its online immigration and customs declaration system. Starting December 1st, travelers arriving at the Philip Goldson International Airport can now complete and submit mandatory immigration and customs forms digitally before their arrival.
The new system aims to streamline the process, allowing passengers to fill out their forms via an online portal rather than using traditional paper forms. The platform, described as simple to navigate, enables travelers to provide required information for both departure and arrival in advance.
A three-month transition period has been announced during which both digital and paper forms will be accepted. The phased introduction will eventually make the digital option mandatory at all ports of entry.
A government release stated, “The public is encouraged to utilize the digital option and embrace the transition, as the system is fine-tuned to deliver an efficient and seamless experience.”
As the peak tourism season approaches, authorities expect this shift to reduce the reliance on paper forms, improving processing times and creating a more convenient experience for travelers. The portal link is available on the official website for travelers seeking to use this service.
