Screwworm detection in Mexico could threaten Belize’s cattle exports

Screwworm scare sparks trade tensions between Belize and Mexico

By Belize Live News Staff: The detection of New World screwworm in Mexico has sparked concerns about potential repercussions for Belize’s livestock exports. Both the U.S. and Mexico are implementing measures to control the spread of the virus and ensure export safety. Meanwhile, Mexico is facing pressure from livestock associations in Belize and Guatemala, urging further preventative actions to protect cross-border trade.
