By Belize Live News Staff: Police on Monday recovered the body of Rafael Vasquez from the Mopan River in Bullet Tree Village, Cayo District.
Local sources reported that Vasquez, who was allegedly intoxicated at the time, drowned in the river. Residents nearby initially raised the alarm after he was last seen entering the water. Efforts to locate him were undertaken through the night, culminating in the discovery of his body Monday morning.
Police have confirmed Vasquez’s identity and stated that an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
