By Belize Live News Staff: A 23-year-old man from southern Belize has been charged with two counts of harm after allegedly attacking his blind father and sister, police said on Monday.
The suspect, Fabio Bonnell Jr., was reportedly intoxicated when he arrived at his family’s home in Georgetown Village, Stann Creek, on Sunday afternoon. According to authorities, Bonnell began verbally abusing his mother and five sisters. When his father intervened, urging him to stop, the younger Bonnell allegedly attacked the older man, choking him.
Police say Bonnell’s 20-year-old sister tried to intervene but was bitten on the hand by her brother. The father sustained injuries, including pain in his hip and swelling around one eye, while the sister suffered bruising and swelling in her hand.
Bonnell Jr. is currently in police custody awaiting further legal proceedings.
