Santa Cruz chairman allegedly pulls gun on ex-common-law wife

By Belize Live News Staff: A shocking incident has emerged from Santa Cruz Village, where the local chairman, Vincent Scott, is accused of pulling a gun on his ex-common-law wife, Dalia Cabral, in front of their two children. Cabral recounted the traumatic experience, stating that Scott allegedly attempted to shoot her, but the gun jammed, potentially saving her life.

The confrontation reportedly began when Scott found a maintenance worker in Cabral’s home. Enraged, he allegedly chased the man out before turning his aggression toward Cabral. “He broke in after 8:00 p.m., the door was locked, and the window was broken. I jumped from the second floor with my kids to escape,” Cabral shared, describing her fear for her life.

Cabral has since filed a police report and is seeking a protection order, fearing for her safety and that of her children.
