By Belize Live News Staff: Belizeans can expect a mix of sunshine and clouds today, with scattered showers expected throughout the day and into the night. The National Meteorological Service forecasts isolated showers, with a slightly higher chance of rain along coastal areas this morning, in central and inland regions this afternoon, and returning to the coast tonight.
Despite the rain, temperatures will remain warm, reaching highs of 86°F (30°C) along the coast and 89°F (32°C) inland. Hilly areas will enjoy cooler temperatures, with highs of 75°F (24°C).
Boaters and those with marine interests should be aware of choppy seas with waves reaching 3-5 feet. Northeasterly winds will be blowing at 5-15 knots.
The National Meteorological Service is closely monitoring two weather systems with the potential for tropical development. The first, a broad area of low pressure over the southwestern Caribbean Sea, has a medium chance of developing into a tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours. A second system, located west-northwest of the Azores, is also showing signs of organization and has a medium chance of development.
Looking ahead to Sunday, expect cloudy skies with a chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms, particularly over central and northern areas in the morning and inland regions in the afternoon.
